Community Service
The Community Service Ministry addresses the practical and spiritual needs of ten local ministries through funding from the church, volunteer service or personal donations. These local ministries have many diverse needs, thus providing many ways to serve God through outreach and service to the needy.
Serving God can be as simple as serving coffee or reading the Bible to an elderly person at Elim. You have the opportunity to reach out to the spiritually lost by conducting religious services at Churches United for the Homeless or to be that extra pair of hands that is so needed in many of these minimally funded ministries. By donating a can of peas or a pair of socks, you can carry out God’s commission to love and care for others in His name.
Each ministry has a Salem contact person to communicate the needs of that ministry to those that wish to serve in or contribute to a local mission. Ministry needs are posted in the Reach Out section of The Spirit of Salem monthly newsletter.
